It's cold yet it feelings it's burning.

[The sweater hits him in the chest and he grabs it with both arms so it doesn't fall.]

I've never seen snow before. Neither have any of the children in my world.

...okay, at this point I want to hear the kind of place you come from. I'm starting to feel concerned.

[Because really, no child at all would see snow? That doesn't feel...normal]

My world? Well, fifteen years ago, an incident called Second Impact caused the entire Antarctic to melt instantly and knocked the earth off its proper axis. Since then, countries like Japan experience an eternal summer and children grow up without ever knowing other seasons.

...I'm surprised anyone survived in the first place!

[That sounded really apocalyptic, good grief]

Many people didn't. The waves and subsequent war decimated the world's population. However... [He shrugs.] most children my age don't have any memories of that chaotic time. They are just facts to learn in a history book.

Alright, if it happened that long ago, then does that mean everything is more peaceful now? Even if they're difficult times?

Well, for most of the world I suppose so. But the fear of annihilation remains.

...that's very human. I guess it's good to know no matter where you all are from, humanity is still so...recognizable.

Where I'm from people have been very fearful It's been unpleasant to see for a while already.
