[We are at...the corgi car ngl i am just here for dog therapy.
Richie will be sat down and letting three of them come clamber over him while he tries to equally distribute pets. He'll wave to the kid when he sees him.]
[NOOOOOOO. His heart breaks immediately. Good thing one or two of the dogs waddle over to give Kaworu's hands a sniff.]
Rough one, isn't it? [Richie quirks a smile, though it's only half formed. He's not in his usual spirits either, though he hasn't been sobbing. Terrible Sunday. Terrible chain of events.] It's a good spot to hang in, when you're feeling low. Better than the bar maybe.
[Takes the tissues and sniffles like he might actually be sad. Who cares about not being able to spend time in gardens but these are the most magnificent creatures he has ever encountered.]
But they're so cute. I want to pet them. It made me happy after everything.
Then we ought to get you up to snuff, so's you can pet them all you like.
[He smiles, genuinely touched by the sight of him. The sound. He's speaking honestly, and it's good to hear a bit of positivity after the shitshow this weekend.]
They did show up in the nick of time, didn't they? I never had pets growing up but hey, I'm happy to make up for lost time.
I never really understood why humans kept animals. I assumed it was because it was easier than dealing with other people so they put up with the work of caring for animals for that.
[Tearing up again and reaching out a hand that is immediately found by a pup to use for pets.]
You've got a hell of a perspective on humanity, kid. I'd love to read a dissertation sometime.
[Well like. Fair. On a broad scale, people sucked. Richie doesn't look all too put out by it though.]
They are, aren't they? Little suck-ups. [Said with a bright grin and a hearty belly rub for the nearest corgi.] Not every critter's as keen on affection as dogs are, but there's a fair few that are.

Richie. I think... I think I'm allergic to the dogs.

[leans over, pulling tissues out of his pocket for the kid. Once again we are back at it.]
Are they making your nose itchy?
